During an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in 2021, a very pregnant Lawrence touched on her acting hiatus and promoted her Netflix movie "Don't Look Up." Her last movie role was Raven in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix." When Colbert asked what she did for the past three years, Lawrence responded by half-jokingly saying, "I just had a ton of sex," while looking down at her baby bump.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, published in December 2021, Lawrence briefly mentioned her baby but preferred to talk more about her return to acting and politics.
