Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney are busy growing their family. The actress confirmed to People in late 2021 that she's expecting her first baby, two years after they wed.

During an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in 2021, a very pregnant Lawrence touched on her acting hiatus and promoted her Netflix movie "Don't Look Up." Her last movie role was Raven in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix." When Colbert asked what she did for the past three years, Lawrence responded by half-jokingly saying, "I just had a ton of sex," while looking down at her baby bump.

In the past, Lawrence has remained mum about her baby and marriage. In an interview with Vanity Fair, published in December 2021, Lawrence briefly mentioned her baby but preferred to talk more about her return to acting and politics. The reason she's selective with what she shares about her pregnancy, Lawrence said, is because "every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can."

In June 2019, Lawrence spoke publicly about Maroney for the first time in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

"Well, he's just the best person I've ever met in my whole life," she told the outlet at the time, adding that it was "a very, very easy decision" to say "yes" when he proposed.

When asked how she knew Maroney was "the one," she told Sadler that she "started with the basics."

"'How do I feel? Is he nice? Is he kind?' It's just — this is the one, I know that sounds really stupid but he's just, he's — you know. He's the greatest person I've ever met, so I feel very honored to become a Maroney," she said.
